joining us this morning is major from salvation army. thank you for joining us. yesterday they were carving the turkeys. talk a little about that event. >> they were. it was really exciting. we have officers from the police department and fire department and other service agencies who come in. it is a bit of a competition to see who can do the best carving. but it's pretty exciting seeing all the meat coming off the turkeys knowing it's going to be ready to go for today. >> reporter: it's nice to know there are so many volunteers and donations that have come in. but there's still need this morning. >> there is. we are very much in need of drivers this morning. we've got a lot of volunteers already in place to help us put the packages together. but all that has to be hand delivered and that happens by getting it in the vehicles for drivers to take it out. >> reporter: okay. people have a couple of options if they have free time this morning they can stop by at ninth and harrison which is this harbor lights center or call the volunteer coordinator at 415-238-5405.
